HORSHAM TWP., Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The Horsam Water and Sewer Authority says customers must boil water before drinking, brushing teeth, making ice and food prep until further notice. It is safe to bathe and wash dishes.

A problem with the township's disinfection system at one of the wells prompted the precautionary advisory. There has been no confirmed contamination, officials say this is just a precaution.

All schools in the Hatboro-Horsham School District are closed today as a result.

Just about all of Horsham's 26,000 residents are affected by the boil water advisory. The area affected is bounded by Limekiln Pike, County Line Road, Blair Mill Road and Welsh Road.

Township officials expect the advisory to be lifted on Saturday. Customers will be advised when that happens.
