For some, the fairy tale ceremony is a brief escape.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Britain is buzzing with excitement ahead of this weekend's royal wedding.

But the enthusiasm over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tying the knot certainly extends across the pond.

For some, their fairy tale love story and impending wedding nuptials are a brief escape.

"With everything that's been going on in the world, it's nice to have an occasion where you can kind of go back to tradition and just enjoy something nice for a change," said Howard Silverstone, a board member with the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia.

He'll be watching with family from a fish-and-chips restaurant in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

"I'm going to take a leaf out of the Kentucky Derby book," he added. "I'll be there in a nice jacket and I have a Union Jack bowtie I'll be wearing."

He's disappointed, however, by how much attention is being put on Markle's family and her past.

"Prince Harry is happy. She's happy. Let them enjoy their moment in the spotlight," said Silverstone.
