PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Hundreds of children got into the Easter spirit Saturday with a egg hunt in South Philadelphia.

The East Passyunk Avenue Business District hosted their annual Easter egg hunt at the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center.

"People are just running wild, grabbing eggs, said executive director Adam Leiter. “We're trying to ask people to limit it to four or five eggs per kid, but it's hard to hold back when it's this exciting."

So how many eggs were there?

"All together we have about 4,000 eggs," he explained.

While you might think, 'Wow, that's a lot of candy,' South Philadelphia mom Tracy Timco says it's not all candy that's in those eggs.

"There was a coupon in there for two weeks of karate,” she said. “Which is amazing. That's why I love it."

Reporter: How much of the candy goes to your daughter and how much is the mom tax? How much do you get?

"I sneak in probably like a quarter percent,” she said. “Nobody notices so that's my secret”
