PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Today is the last Saturday before Christmas, also known as "Super Saturday." Some also call it "Panic Saturday,” but in Old City, panic wasn't the case for many.

Despite our best efforts we couldn't find anyone just starting their Christmas shopping this weekend.

"We're about midway there,” said Erin Galbally. “Hopefully, this is the grand finale."

In an ideal world, Galbally and her friend say, they would have already had their shopping done.

"We're just generally pretty disorganized,” she said. “Inevitably we're last minute people."

So, what's the shopping experience like when you do wait until the last minute?

"I think the adrenaline kicks in and you have to get it done," she explained.

Book Trader store owner Peter Hieler says he noticed the same thing.

"The strange thing is (shoppers) come in and within two minutes they have books at the desk," he said.

Something he says he only really sees this close to Christmas.

Heather Mohorn, owner of Momo’s Tree House in Old City, says she came into this Christmas weekend ready for the rush.

"This is a toy store, Santa's packing his sleigh, we have to help make that happen for everybody,” she said. “It's showtime."
