PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Jayson Werth told Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports that he is retiring.

“I’m done … whatever you want to call it,” Werth said in the story.

Werth, 39, recently suffered a hamstring injury at Triple-A Tacoma, a minor-league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Werth played in Philadelphia from 2007 to 2010, helping the team win the World Series in 2008.

He hit .444 during the 2008 World Series with a homer and three doubles in five games. Werth's only all-star appearance came in 2009 when he hit .268/.373/.506 with a career high 36 homers and 99 RBIs.
