Study finds physiologic reason for why you should exercise

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — According to a new study in the journal Scientific Report there may be a physiologic reason why exercise is so good for our overall health.

Researchers looked at people who exercise on a regular basis. They found that due to the need to maximize the flow of oxygen in the body during exercise, a unique relationship between breathing and the heart pumping blood can developed over time.

Another way of looking at this is regular exercise trains the body to work at the highest level possible. 

This finely tuned performance continues not only in exercise, but also when a person is resting.

The ultimate effect of this is that a person's body experiences less stress with day-to-day activity because it is working like a well-timed machine.

This is just another argument for the benefits of exercise.
