PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane will be released from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility Wednesday morning, KYW Newsradio has learned

Kane, who started her sentence on Nov. 29, 2018, served eight months of a 10- to 23-month sentence on perjury and obstruction charges.

Officials at the county jail say Kane did not get special treatment. They say she’s getting out early because of “good time” credit for her behavior while behind bars, a program they say is available to any county inmate.

Kane was convicted in 2016 of leaking secret information about a grand jury investigation that wrapped up without charges ever being filed, and then lying under oath to cover it up.
