Man dragged to his death while trying to stop carjacker

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly dragged another man to his death during a carjacking in North Philadelphia. 

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday at Broad Street and Girard Avenue.

Philadelphia police say the owner of a 2006 Acura was killed while trying to stop another man from stealing his car.

Authorities say the owner of the car was being dragged up Broad Street when the thief lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a store about a block away.

The suspect got away before police got there.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to Hahnemann Hospital here he was pronounced dead a short time later.
