PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It appears everything is love between Mayor Jim Kenney and hip hop mogul Jay-Z.

The two met ahead of a Beyonce and Jay-Z concert at Lincoln Financial Field for the couple's On the Run II Tour.

Kenney tweeted they are "both very excited about the future," referring to the controversy that has surrounded the Made in America festival in Philadelphia.

"I found him very intelligent, very sincere, very sensitive," Kenney said of the rapper. "I explained to him the miscommunication about the sites. We weren't trying to get rid of MIA. We were trying to look at maybe different sites to grow it. He was not informed about that, so that's why he got angry."

The mayor has received flack in recent weeks after the festival was unexpectedly given the boot from its usual Benjamin Franklin Parkway venue, but he has since resolved the matter, pointing to miscommunication.

After talking, Kenney said Jay-Z now realizes the city was not trying to evict him from the Parkway.

"We made a connection that will grow this event even more special than it is already. He was happy that we understood that, that we recognized the value of this festival for the city," Kenney added.
