SOUDERTON, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Students weren’t allowed to bring their bags to a Montgomery County high school Thursday morning because a suspicious note was found in the building the day before.

Souderton Area High School officials say the note was found late Wednesday. It's not clear what was in the note, but school district police got involved. Officials say they searched the building and determined the school was safe and the note was not credible.

Thursday morning at Souderton High, any bag — back pack, book bag, athletic bag — was not allowed in the building. The district said school security officials would search any bag that was brought it.

Also, all acitivities that were scheduled to happen before classes started were canceled.

There is no word from the school whether the ban will be extended to Friday.
