PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Parents in West Philadelphia are demanding answers after their son was left on the bus sleeping for the second time in two weeks.

It was the last day of school for 7-year-old Atif Ibn-Kayzar, and his parents became worried when he was more than two hours late, again.

"I'm hurt and devastated," said April Silver, the boy's mother. "It's just like the first incident, I was angry and furious. Now I'm just hurt. How could you do it twice? How dare you?"

Silver told CBS-3 they eventually found him sleeping on the bus in a parking lot.

"Why didn't you have an in-service meeting with your staff? Nothing, to prevent this happening again," she said.

This involved two drivers from the school district's bus vendor, All City. The driver from last week's incident was fired. School district officials say there are procedures to ensure children arrive at the right stop and that falling short of those standards is unacceptable.
