ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — You haven't heard a lot about the replacement for the Revel casino in Atlantic City, mostly because the owners are readying for their June 28 opening.

And a lot of work is still being done to prepare for Ocean Resort Casino's big day.

The biggest difference from the Revel days — and yes, they have revamped the place — is the customer approach. About 3,200 people, most of them quite familiar with the town, will be working when it opens, and some are being trained to help you get around.

"We have hired a team of ambassadors," said Seth Schorr, Ocean Resort adviser, "who are going to be here to hold your hand as a guest, to walk you through the property, to help you explore and discover and get to know it."

The property includes 1,400 rooms, all with an ocean view, that go for about $200 a night at seasonal rates. By opening day, 16 restaurants will be up and running, with a few more to come.

Ocean Resort is still working on the casino, however, including a central sports book and its entertainment lineup, although nightclubs are ready to go.

The resort is expected to get its casino license next week.

Ocean Resort will open on the same day as the Hard Rock Hotel Casino, housed inside what used to be the Trump Taj Mahal.

But Schorr doesn't mind sharing the spotlight.

"For two integrated resorts to open on the same day two weeks after the governor passed a bill to offer sports betting, you can't write that story," he added. "You can't make that story up."
