PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — About 250 experts from the auto industry, government, and power companies gathered at an all-day forum hosted by PECO at the Please Touch Museum on Friday.

The discussion centered on the past, present and future of transportation electrification.

"Folks are focusing on more efficiency, cleaner, more choices, and there's lot of things electrification has to do with that," PECO President and CEO Mike Innocenzo said. "As the electric grid is getting cleaner, as battery technology is becoming more effecient and more cost effective."

Innocenzo says one trend he is seeing is more buses and cranes running on electricity.

Also up for discussion: common concerns and misconceptions.

"What they call 'range anxiety,'" he said. "You don't have as much charging infrastructure out there as you do gas stations. So there's a lot of concerns about folks running out of their charge."

In addition to the speakers, there were also a number of vehicles on hand for people to test drive.
