HARRISBURG, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — The spokesman for Pennsylvania gaming regulators says online sports wagering will begin in just a few weeks.

Sports betting at Pennsylvania casinos began last fall and now, Gaming Control Board spokesman Doug Harbach says it won’t be long before you will be able to do it online.

“We expect that within the next two to three weeks that at least one of our operators will be in a position to offer testing for their online sports wagering," Harbach said.

Harbach says there will be an announcement to let people know how to set up an account for the testing. Meanwhile, the week of July 15 has been designated for the rollout of online slots and other casino games.

It’s expected at least three operators will be ready to test their online sites that week. Gaming regulators have also approved the first video gaming terminals at five truck stops, but actual operation is still a few months off.

Four of the first five are in or near the I-80 corridor, the other is in Cambria County.
