PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) --  The Philadelphia Phillies will look to get back on the winning track Wednesday as they continue their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies dropped the opener in this three-game series last night by the score of 8-4. Vince Velasquez fell to 1-3 after allowing four runs in 4 2/3 innings. At the plate, Phillies batters struck out an alarming 16 times. Scott Kingery whiffed four times as his average dipped to .216.

Jake Arrieta will be on the mound for the Phillies in this one. The veteran right-hander is 2-0 with a 2.04 ERA. He is coming off a dominant performance in his last start as he beat the Pirates with seven innings of shutout, one-hit ball with 10 strikeouts.

Arizona will counter on the mound with ace right-hander Zack Greinke. He is 2-1 with a 4.13 ERA through four starts this season. He beat San Francisco in his last start, allowing one run in seven innings.

The Phillies are 14-8 and that is good for second in the National League East. They come into tonight 1 1/2 games behind the front running New York Mets.

Arizona is 16-6 and that is the best record in the National League.
