PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A London tavern that features a Philly vibe is throwing its doors open for Eagles fans this weekend.

J.P. Teti's timing could not have been better. The Philadelphia ex-pat opened his aptly named dive bar Passyunk Avenue early this year — and he expects to host about 500 Birds fans at a block party this weekend.

Teti said he wasn't sure the plan would fly with local authorities.

"So I went to the council and said I've got an idea where i want to do a street party, big screen tv, beers and cheesesteaks and I was expecting the council to throw us out on our ear," he told sister station 94WIP Sportsradio. "And the counselor replied, 'Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.'"

His menu features all the Philly favories: hoagies, meatball sandwiches, pork, soft pretzels. But the cheeseteaks include some European flair.

"The bread's our own recipe," Teti said. "Our butchering supply chain extends into the Netherlands. We make our own whiz. We really left nothing to chance, and we wouldn't promote them as Philly cheesesteaks if we couldn't do it right."
