PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) Photo Pop Philly is heading to Philly for Memorial Day weekend, featuring interactive art from local artists.

"Guests will make their way through five one-of-a-kind rooms, and they're filled with all interactive displays, and many of them are created by local artists in Philadelphia," explained founder and creator Kate Marlys.

Visitors will discover "selfie-worthy art, impactful murals and fun installations — really just an endless amount of photo opportunities," she added.

The inaugural theme is red, white and blue.

"Philadelphia is the birthplace of America but not everything in there is patriotic themed," Marlys said. "It could be a red heart, it could be a red lip — that's just our overall theme. There is a lot of patriotic art in Photo Pop but we're trying very hard to be patriotic, not political."

Hometown artists like Amberella, Get Up, and Martha Rich are creating unique pieces exclusively for Photo Pop.

The exhibit will run through the Fourth of July 4 in the Philadelphia Building, located at 1315 Walnut St.

General admission tickets are on sale now.
