PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine is closed Friday because of what police believe was a credible threat.

Officials say one person is in custody.

A Temple spokesman says university police were made aware of the threat overnight. He did not elaborate on what the threat was or how cops learned about it. The decision was then made to cancel classes and close the medical school building for the day.

Temple University Hospital, the health science campus and the main campus are all open and operating as normal.
