MAYS LANDING, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Two men are facing charges in Atlantic County after one of them was filmed urinating on a memorial to a little boy who died of cancer.

Bryan Bellace, 23, is charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct for urinating on the memorial at Underhill Park in Mays Landing.

Police say Daniel Flippen, also 23, was recording his friend. He's charged with having an open alcoholic drink in a park.

The memorial reads: "A child who made the world a better place through his courage, faith, smile, laughter and love of others."

Some neighbors in Mays Landing spent part of Sunday cleaning the memorial to 9-year-old Christian Clopp, who died in 2012.

The boy's father posted on Facebook — which has since been deleted — that he wishes those responsible would be forced to "scrub the oncology floor at Children's Hospital with a toothbrush."

When the news of the incident spread, good Samaritans jumped into action and helped clean the plaque.
