PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an alleged rape in University City early this morning.

Officials say at around 4 a.m. Saturday a 38-year-old woman was getting into her car, after leaving at party near 30th and Walnut Streets.

That’s when police say a man with a gun entered her vehicle, held her at gunpoint and raped her.

The suspect then fled the scene and the victim called 911, police say.

According to police, the suspect was described as a black male, around 25-years-old, with a large build, and has facial hair.

The male suspect, police say, was also said to have been wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and black pants.

Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing, but anyone with information is urged to contact police.
