HAVERFORD, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met on social media in April.

Police released a sketch of the suspect, who went by the name Joe. He's described as a white man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with short strawberry-blonde hair, blue eyes, a stocky build, and a strong aroma of cigarette smoke.

The two met through an app called Whisper, which uses GPS location to connect users.

Authorities say the suspect met with a juvenile girl on April 22 at her parent's house in Ardmore, also where the alleged assault occurred.

Haverford Police Chief John Viola says the app is very risky for all users, especially younger ones.

"Kids just don’t realize what they’re doing to themselves by putting all this information out there," Viola said.

Anyone with information on his identity is asked to call the Haverford Township Police Department at 610-853-1298.
