PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities released surveillance video of a man starting fires inside a South Philadelphia day care center, hoping the public can help identify the arsonist.

Police believe the man is in his 50s or 60s. He’s seen on camera breaking into the day care on McKean Street near 21st Street, around 4 a.m. on Monday.

He is seen walking in with a bag and flashlight and sparking flames in a few spots around the center.

The suspect has a goatee and is seen wearing jeans and a hat pointed downward toward his brow.

Fire crews were quick to respond to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames before the adjoining buildings caught on fire.

No one was injured or evacuated.
