PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three hit and run accidents, two of them fatal, remain unsolved in Philadelphia and police are asking for help in identifying the drivers.

Bile Correa was struck by a car Dec. 1 at Bustleton Avenue and Stanwood Street in Rhawnhurst. Initial reports suggested he was staggering around drunk before being hit, but Accident Investigation District Capt. Mark Overwise says that is not true.

"Bile was crossing the street and he got hit by a car," he said.

Correa was actually hit by two vehicles.

The driver from the first accident turned himself in and authorities are searching for the driver of a Toyota 4Runner who ran over the 53-year-old man.

On Nov. 9, 50-year-old Brian Jones was also killed after being struck by two cars. First, a woman driving a Toyota Camry hit him at Cottman and Torresdale avenues. 15 seconds later, Jones was hit by someone in a Mitsubishi Gallant. Police have spoken with the Camry driver and charges are pending.

They need help finding the man in the Mitsubishi.

"And I would just ask the person driving that vehicle who struck the pedestrian, as a human being, to turn themselves in," said Overwise.

Police are also looking for the driver of a white Kia Forte that struck someone in a crosswalk at 21st and Market streets on Nov. 10. That victim was in critical condition but expected to survive.
