PHILADELPHIA (WIP Sportsradio) — Nick Foles has reportedly signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to an NFL Network report, working on a $22 million annual contract.

Foles, 30, leaves Philadelphia as a hero after beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII two seasons ago.

Foles informed the Eagles on Feb. 5 that he would buy his way back into free agency, not picking up his end of the mutual option and paying the team back $2 million to do so. The Eagles elected not to franchise tag Foles for around $25 million, allowing him to become a free agent.

"We've been so fortunate the over last couple of years to have to have two top 15 quarterbacks in Carson (Wentz) and Nick," Howie Roseman said on Feb. 27. "We've spent a lot of time discussing this internally and with him and we have decided to let Nick become a free agent."

The Jaguars, who have a very talented defense and were just one win away from facing the Eagles in Super Bowl LII two seasons ago, have Blake Bortles under contract for two more seasons. However, the Jags can get out of the Bortles deal after 2019 with just a dead cap hit of $5 million and a base salary of $18 million in 2020.

Foles, originally drafted by the Eagles in 2012, re-joined the team for a second stint before the 2017 season. Of course, in 2017, Foles replaced an injured Wentz in Week 14 and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl in franchise history, being named the Super Bowl LII MVP.

Last season, Foles was 4-1 in five starts for the Eagles completing 72.3 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and four interceptions, averaging 282.6 passing yards per game. With Wentz once again injured, Foles led the team to a playoff win over the Bears before falling short in the NFC Divisional round at the New Orleans Saints.
