Road closures, routes, times: What to know for Women's March on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The third annual Women's March returns to Philadelphia Saturday along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, but this year with two separate rallies.

The national march has received backlash recently for differing messages of the movement. As a result, the national march will take place along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and down to Eakins Oval and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The Philly-based organization's rally will be held at LOVE Park.

Both events will begin at 11 a.m. and end around 3 p.m.

The following streets will be closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday:

  • Arch Street between 15th and 16th streets
  • 16th Street between JFK Boulevard and Cherry Street
  • Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 16th and 17th streets
  • Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 22nd Street and Eakins Oval (all lanes)
  • 23rd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
  • Spring Garden Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
  • Kelly Drive (outbound) from Benjamin Franklin Parkway to Fairmount Avenue
  • Kelly Drive (inbound) between 25th Street and Fairmount Avenue (local access maintained to Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive)
  • Martin Luther King Drive between Eakins Oval and Montgomery Drive
  • Spring Garden Street Bridge at 31st Street (local access maintained to Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive)

The following streets will be temporarily no parking zones between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m.:

  • Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 16th Street to Eakins Oval (all lanes, both sides)
  • 20th Street from Race Street to Benjamin Franklin Parkway (east side of the street)
  • 22nd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Winter Street (both sides of the street)
  • 2100-2200 Spring Garden Street (north side of the street)
  • 1400-1500 JFK Boulevard (both sides of the street)
  • Arch Street between 15th and 16th streets (both sides of the street)
  • 16th Street between JFK Boulevard and Cherry Street (both sides of the street)
  • 15th Street between Arch Street and JFK Boulevard (both sides of the street)

Benjamin Franklin Parkway cross traffic will be permitted from 17th through 22nd streets.

SEPTA buses 2, 7, 27, 32, 38, 43 and 48 will be detoured from their normal routes through the Benjamin Franklin Parkway beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m.
