PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As student loan debt seems to continue to rise exponentially with each year, a local app creator is attempting to ease some of the burden.

The scholarship app Scholly, which makes scholarships for college students more easily accessible on one platform, has partnered with the Freeform TV show "grown-ish" to help pay off up to $125,000 in student loan debt. The program is part of the show's season two debut.

Current students and graduates with outstanding loan debt can apply for the first round of the scholarship contest at myscholly.com/grownish or via the app now through Jan. 31. Winners will be announced at the 2019 Freeform Summit.

Christopher Gray, a Drexel University alumnus, founded the app after making a deal on "Shark Tank."
