PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A SEPTA Route 33 accordian-style bus slid on a patch of snow and ice early Monday morning and ran into a house at 21st and Diamond streets in North Philadelphia.

The family of five inside the home was jarred awake around 1:45 a.m. by the crash, but suffered no injuries. The Red Cross is assisting them.

A female bus passenger was treated for a leg injury. The driver and another passenger escaped injury.

The Route 33 operates between Penn's Landing and 23rd and Venango streets.

Meanwhile, SEPTA is advising riders to build extra time into the morning commute. Buses and trolleys will be slowing down because of conditions.

Crews are out clearing platforms, stations and parking lots of snow and ice, but advise those walking in those areas to exercise caution.
