PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- With weather like we saw today, ice may not be the word you want to hear right now. But this weekend in Chestnut Hill, ice is more than welcome.

Ice sculptures are all over Chestnut Hill for an event appropriately named Chestnut Hill On Ice, not just sculptures though.

Marty Madeira and his wife, Pat, enjoying everything this festival has to offer, including a mini village

"I love the yurts,” Pat said. “I might even spend the night in one of them. They're like tents and they have beds and chairs and it's absolutely beautiful and comfortable."

To keep visitors warm at such a cool event, area restaurants have their fire pits lit and are serving up their very own chili recipes.

"Cold but wonderful with all the great sites, sculptures, food and drink," Marty explains.

Friday’s snowy weather was even an added bonus for some.

"I'm not sure we would have come if we hadn't had a little snow."

You can check out everything included in this two-day festival on the Chestnut Hill website. Saturday's winter weather festivities will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
