South Philly row home fire injures 2

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people, one being a firefighter, were injured as crews battled a row home fire in South Philadelphia. 

Firefighters got to the house at 22nd and McClellan streets around 4:30 a.m. 

Authorities said there was heavy fire on the first floor and people were trapped on the second floor. Firefighters were able to get everyone out of the house safely, and it took about 30 minutes to place the fire under control. 

A Philadelphia Fire Department spokesman said a firefighter suffered minor injuries and is expected to be OK.

Officials added that one person from the house was taken to the hospital, but their injuries and condition has not been released. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
