PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A special Christmas delivery for some kids in need.

For hundreds of foster kids in Philadelphia, Christmas will be a little brighter thanks to workers at Mattress Firm doubling as Santa's elves.

"There's Star Wars toys here. There's games, there's cars, there's dolls, there's art sets. I think we've covered the entire spectrum here," said Joe Traynham with Mattress Firm.

He says it was an all hands on deck effort to make sure foster kids with Turning Points for Children have something under the tree.

"Not everybody can be a foster parent, but everyone can help support foster kids," he said.

Dawn Holden Woods with Turning Points for Children says the gifts dropped off to them on Tuesday will go a long way.

"The holidays can be a hard time for our families, especially if you don't have the resources to provide for your child. And so all of these toys help to bring happiness and joy, and dignity to families in need," she said.

Dawn says she can not wait to hear the stories of the kids' reaction on Christmas when they open their new toys.

"They will wake up with tears in their eyes, screaming and giggling, and playing with them all day," she said.
