PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three students got sick Monday after eating what police say are Rice Krispies Treats, which they believe may have been laced with an illegal substance.

Philadelphia police say just before 11 a.m. at Martha Washington School, in the 700 block of North 44th Street, three seventh-grade girls ate the snacks. Then at least one started feeling lethargic.

All three were taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. One is in stable condition. The conditions of the other two are unknown.

The School District of Philadelphia is cooperating with police and has informed all school parents about what happened.

Principal Allayna Ratliff said in a letter to parents that a full inverstigation is ongoing. "We take this very seriously, and it will be dealt with according to District policy," she said.
