PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Super Bowl-winning quarterback Nick Foles can now add author to his list of accomplishments.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback got up close and personal with fans to introduce his new book about his life on and off the field.

In his book, "Believe It: My Journey of Success, Failure, and Overcoming the Odds," Foles talks faith, family and football.

"We want to be open and transparent about our journey in the NFL, our journey through marriage, being parents, going through Tori's health struggles with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS," Foles said Thursday during a book signing at Sam's Club in Northeast Philadelphia, where he also met with hundreds of fans who waited in line for hours to see him.

"It means the world," Foles continued. "It just shows you just the passionate people that love Philadelphia and love the Eagles."

James Baranosky from Bensalem said he watched the Eagles play every Sunday during football season while he was deployed in Kuwait with the Army Reserves.

"We wake up at 8 a.m. for 1 p.m. games," he recalled. "It helped me through so much. Every Sunday I had something to look forward to."

Baranosky said meeting Foles was a dream come true.

"I'm speechless right now. To bring home the first Super Bowl, it's just crazy to see and it's just an honor to meet him for what he did," he said.

Foles said all the proceeds from the book will go to different charities and nonprofits.

"Eagles fans are Eagles fans because they're genuine," Foles added. "They have the reputation because that's what's in their heart, and that's why we love them."
