DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A former teacher and girls soccer coach at a Bucks County high school will spend up to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to having inappropriate relationships with multiple students.

Christian Willman, 40, pleaded guilty to having sexual relationships with six different female students from 2005 through 2018 while he was a teacher at Parkland High School in Lehigh County and later at Palisades High School in Bucks County.

Bucks County Judge Wallace Bateman called Willman “pure evil masked as a teacher” as he sentenced him to six to 12 years in state prison.

“He not only abused them,” said prosecutor Kate Kohler, “but he manipulated other people around them and isolated his victims to be able to further gain access to them.”

Six women spoke at his guilty plea, all sharing a similar story of Willman showering them with praise, then manipulating and sexualizing the relationship. They said he would later isolate them, turning them against their friends and family, making it so they felt like he was the only one they could turn to.

One of the women said Willman invited her to his home while his wife and kids were away. Another said Willman made her feel like she made this happen, but she says now she realizes “this is what predators and pathetic men do.”

His first victim from 2005 testified that she feels guilty because if she had realized what he’d done, she said, she could have prevented him from doing it to anyone else.

“I remain in awe of the courage of all these young women,” Kohler added. “They knew this was going to be difficult and they wanted to do it. This was an important day for them, for their healing, and for justice.”

In a statement, Palisades School District Superintendent Bridget O’Connell said Willman took advantage of the school community’s trust “in the most egregious ways possible.”

“I commend those that brought forth the allegations of misconduct and admire the amazing courage of the victims to end Chris Willman’s abhorrent behavior,” she said.

Last week, another former Palisades High teacher, 26-year-old Francis Reppert, was charged for reportedly taking photos up the skirts of female students in his classroom, then sharing them online.

Once released from prison, Willman will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years. He will not be allowed to coach or teach, nor will he be allowed on school properties.
