Teacher's aide charged with sending images of child sexual abuse

An employee at a South Jersey high school who allegedly sent photos of child sexual abuse through Snapchat has been suspended.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ (KYW Newsradio) — An employee at a South Jersey high school who allegedly sent photos of child sexual abuse through Snapchat has been suspended.

Mark Balesteri, Jr., 29, is a teacher's aide at Egg Harbor Township High School, where he also coaches swimming.

After an investigation that lasted several months, authorities searched Balesteri's home, then arrested him. 

He's been charged with distribution and possesion of child abuse and sexual exploitation images.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says Balesteri used Snapchat messaging to send the photos. 

School officials told KYW Newsradio Balesteri has been suspended and removed from having any contact with students. The school is cooperating with law enforcement.
