PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Division II West Chester University women's basketball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament Monday night with a 77-69 win over Millersville in the first round.

A big key to the Golden Rams' success Monday night was the play of junior point guard Gabby Troisi. The Norristown native put together a triple-double in the win, finishing with 11 points, 15 rebounds and 17 assists. Troisi says she didn't know she was tracking a triple-double, but she knew things were going well.

"I knew I had more assists than I normally do," she said, "and then coming right out of halftime I heard my coach say something about 11 assists, and I was like, 'Whoa.' Like that's more than I've ever had, just in the first half, that's more than I've ever had in my single-game career."

Troisi shot five of seven from the field and added a free throw for her 11 points. Her 15 rebounds were a career high, and the 17 assists set a PSAC Tournament record, and it's the third most assists in a game in PSAC history, regular or post-season. Troisi is just the third West Chester player to record a triple-double.

"One of my teammates from last year, Mia Hopkins, she was actually the second person to do it," Troisi said. "Definitely very rewarding. It was nice to hear. They announced it, I think in the third quarter, and I just smiled. Definitely something I wanted to accomplish in my career here. So definitely very happy."

Troisi and the 16-13 Golden Rams now get ready to visit Bloomsburg in the PSAC quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
