FOLCROFT, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Delaware County are searching for two homicide suspects who are on the loose. Authorities say one of the men on Monday pointed a gun at an officer who already had a brush with danger two years ago.

Folcroft Police Chief Bob Ruskowski says investigators are following up on a lot of calls that came in, in the search for the two men.

Both were wanted for a shooting that turned deadly in the city of Chester. And so, two Folcroft officers saw their car on Taylor Drive around 4:30 p.m.

When officers approached, Ruskowski says the two guys got out and one of them pointed his gun at officer Chris Dorman, so Dorman fired two shots.

It's not clear if the men were hit. Police say they ran off.

The officers were not hurt. This comes two years after Dorman was ambushed and shot seven times on the job. In this case, Ruskowski says, he showed he was resilient and ready.

"I guess you could say that's a test for him to be put in that position again. And to respond so well," he said. "He responded the way you're supposed to respond. He was prepared obviously. The nature of the call is going to prepare you for that anyway. That just comes with the training."

Following the incident, authorities asked residents of the Delmar Village-area to shelter in place as they searched for the suspects.

Folcroft Police took to Twitter with an image of one of the two suspects.

"You look at that picture," said Ruskowski. "That's not somebody who picked up a gun for the first time."

Residents are asked to call 911 if they see somthing suspicious or recognize the suspect.
