The Philadelphia Union have won four straight in MLS play.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Union are playing some of their best soccer in recent memory at just the right time.

Philadelphia brings a four-game MLS winning streak into Saturday night's road match with Orlando City. This surge has allowed the Union to move to within a point of fourth-place Columbus in the Eastern Conference standings.

"It's been a good month, obviously, putting together a good run of results and getting to the final of the Open Cup," Union defender Jack Elliott said. "Winning makes everyone happier and the atmosphere around here at the moment is amazing."

In addition to moving closer to fourth, the Union have done a really nice job now of putting space between themselves and the teams on the outside of the playoff race. Philadelphia is now 10 points ahead of seventh-place New England.

The last three wins in this streak for the Union have come via shutout. Elliott talked about what is clicking right now.

"I feel like we're doing a good job of keeping the ball when we're winning and killing teams off with our possession and making it difficult for them to even have the ball to get chances," he says. "I feel like we did that very well against D.C. (in a 2-0 Wednesday night win) on a hot day. We made them chase which was difficult."

Orlando City is winless in its last six matches (0-5-1) and dead last in the East with just 23 points.

Saturday night's match gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
