PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Villanova Wildcats will look to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday when they visit the Richmond Spiders in Colonial Athletic Association action.

Villanova fell to 3-5 (0-5 CAA) this past Saturday, losing at home to New Hampshire, 34-0.

Head coach Mark Ferrante credits New Hampshire for playing well. In addition, he said, "It was one of those days where it seemed like, if it was going to go in a bad direction against us, it kind of did."

Starting quarterback Zach Bednarczyk returned from a shoulder injury to complete 13 of 21 passes for 103 yards, but then he left the game in the second half after landing on that shoulder.

"Zach's status is day-to-day right now," Ferrante said. "He seemed better this Tuesday than he did previous Tuesdays after coming off the injury the first time, and then obviously coming through some of the weeks that he missed. He seemed okay in the weight room, and he seemed okay in practice, but he didn't do a full practice. It'll be day-by-day, and hopefully he'll progress and get better each day, and then (he will be a) game-time decision."

Richmond is 3-5 (1-4 CAA) and coming off a bye week. They lost their last game at Elon, 38-28 back on Oct. 20.

"They're really good," Ferrante said. "It's kind of like the same thing you said last week against a 1-6 New Hampshire team coming in. The record is not indicative of what you're watching on film."

Last year Villanova lost to Richmond 22-0.

Saturday's game gets underway at 3 p.m. in Richmond.
