PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — After clinching a spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship Game with a win over Kutztown last week, the West Chester Golden Rams are now focusing on a homecoming matchup with Lock Haven on Saturday.

The Golden Rams put together an impressive performance in that 38-21 win over previously undefeated Kutztown. It gave them the PSAC East crown and the berth in the conference title game.

"Our kids were ready to play from the time the East Stroudsburg game ended the week before," West Chester head coach Bill Zwaan said. "They were fired up for it, they've been thinking about it for a long time. I was just really happy, they showed up. Kutztown's a good football team, they did some things early to kind of hang around, they jumped actually out on top of us in the second quarter there, so it forced us to get rolling. Our kids did that. They came back, had some big drives against the wind. The wind was a big factor. Got ahead at halftime. Came out in the second half and really played well."

As has been the case all season, the West Chester defensive front was relentless, sacking Kutztown's fine quarterback Collin DiGalbo five times. Senior defensive end Diquan Gilbert was responsible for 2 1/2 of those sacks, giving him 8 1/2 for the season, which is tied for the team lead.

"Diquan, he's a heck of a football player," Zwaan said. "Really strong and fast."

On Saturday, West Chester will take on a Lock Haven team that is just 1-8, but Zwaan says the Bald Eagles have his team's attention.

"Lock Haven, they don't have a great record, but they always play us tough," he said. "It doesn't matter, home or away. Their kids come and play hard and they don't quit. So we really have to keep our guys focused this week. Obviously, there is a championship game in the future, so we've just got to make sure our guys stay focused and play hard this weekend."

West Chester will visit Slippery Rock in that PSAC championship game on Nov. 10.

Saturday's game against Lock Haven gets underway at 2 p.m.
