PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Election Day has arrived, and it turns out that both the Republican and Democratic Parties are watching our region, especially as Republicans face Democratic challenges.

The Democrats want to regain control of the house. The Republicans want to stop it.

In Pennsylvania, two to four districts are ripe for flipping from red to blue. These include the 5th District in Delaware County, the 6th District in Chester and Berks Counties, the 7th District in Lehigh Valley, and the very tight race in District 1 in Bucks County.

"Since the Democrats need 23 seats to gain control of the House of Representatives, Pennsylvania could play a very significant role in whether that happens or not," said F&M pollster Terry Madonna.

New Jersey is also in the picture.

In the 2nd District, Democrats see another pickup, and in the 3rd District, it's Republican Tom MacArthur versus Democrat Andy Kim.

Of course, Menendez and Hugin are also in the furious battle for the Senate.

The bottom line is, the candidates go quiet and this is your day to speak up.
