WILDWOOD, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Seasonal police officers involved in the Memorial Day weekend arrest of a Philadelphia woman on a Wildwood beach, which went viral, won't be criminally charged.

But now, an internal probe of the incident has begun — at least for the cops involved.

Wildwood police officials will continue to look into the incident.

In a statement, Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto outlined what will happen during the process. One thing that won't be: any statements from the department until they're done, and there's no indication how long that might take.

But the release does makes clear that 20-year-old Emily Weinman will be afforded "her opportunity to participate in the internal affairs process."

She has an arraignment next week on the charges filed against her after the incident, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
