Wildwood's solution to parking problems: Leave your car on the beach
Four-wheel-drive vehicles welcome for $10 a day
WILDWOOD, NJ (KYW Newsradio) -- Parking shouldn't be an issue for Wildwood visitors anymore. The popular beach town is letting people park on the sand now.
City Commissioner Pete Byron says they built a tunnel under the boardwalk at Baker Avenue. For just $10, beachgoers can drive their four-wheel-drive vehicles through the one-way tunnel and onto Wildwood's notoriously wide beach.
"Come on down Baker Avenue. We'll be happy to accomodate you," Byron said.

He says the affordable, accessible parking is a win-win for visitors and the city. "$10 is very reasonable. The hours will be 10-6, and we'll be open seven days a week."
He says there's no limit on the number of vehicles, and hopes this gives more people a reason to visit this season. They have enough room for everyone, as long as they have all-wheel drive.
"We could fit 1,000 cars there and you wouldn't even know it. It's almost endless, infinite the amount of cars we can park."
They accept cash, credit or mobile payments through an app.
