Woman who killed her mother, grandmother is charged with 2 counts first-degree murder

VENTNOR CITY, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — The woman accused of killing her mother and grandmother in Ventor City last month has been extradited back to New Jersey after fleeing to New York City, according to authorities.

Heather Barbera, 41, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and related offenses in the deaths of her grandmother, Elaine Rosen, 87, and mother, Michelle Gordon, 67

Rosen and Gordon were found dead inside their apartment near Jackson and Atlantic avenues on July 8. 

After committing the murders, Barbera took a bus to New York City where she was identified by NYPD officers on July 11 at the Midtown Manhattan Port Authority.

Barbera is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday morning.
