Pennsylvania AG Announces Changes To Concealed Carry Reciprocity

April 22, 2018 - 2:30 am

HARRISBURG, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) -- The state attorney general says after a review, there will be changes to the list of states whose concealed carry permits for firearms are recognized by Pennsylvania.

Concealed carry permits issued by Virginia will, in few weeks, no longer be recognized in Pennsylvania. But concealed carry permits issued by two other states – Idaho and Alabama – will be added to the list of those that will be recognized by Pennsylvania. There will be no changes to the list of states that recognize Pennsylvania’s permits. Attorney General Josh Shapiro says his office did research and analysis of other states’ gun laws…

“To confirm whether their standards for issuing concealed carry licenses match or exceed Pennsylvania standards,” Shapiro said.

The Attorney General's Office has created a new website to find out which states recognize Pennsylvania’s concealed carry permits, and vice-versa.
