PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- There's a new way to play the Pennsylvania Lottery, and you don't have to leave your home to do it.

You could try your hand at Super Gems, or engage in word play with Crossword Cash.

"This is a new initiative for us after 46 years of selling our product only in brick and mortar stores," said executive director Drew Svitko.

Svitko says the Pennsylvania Lottery has rolled out interactive online games on PAiLottery.com and on their mobile apps.

"Players need to establish an account with us and link it to a payment device such as a bank account or debit card," he explained. "Credit cards are not accepted."

No skill involved here, just luck -- and with real money on the line, Svitko notes features that stress responsible play.

"You can limit your amount of time and money that you spend," he said. "You can also choose a cooling off period or self-exclude entirely from the program."

You'll still have to head to the store to play Powerball, Cash 5 and other traditional drawings.

Pennsylvania is one of only seven states now selling lottery games online.
