PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It's the first weekend of the season when the Philadelphia Zoo gets spooky once again.

The Philadelphia Zoo is hosting its annual Halloween-themed Boo at the Zoo extravaganza for the next three weekends.

Visitors are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy all that the event has to offer.

"In addition to all the trick-or-treat stations and other crafts and activities around the zoo, we actually have our Extinction Graveyard," said zoo spokesman John Useller. "It features animals that haven't been seen that are extinct like the dodo bird, but it also has animals that are here at the zoo like our Amur leopard and our Western lowland gorillas."

But don't worry, the Extinction Graveyard is advertised as "not-so-scary."

The kids can also take a trick-or-treat safari, run through a hay bale maze, and pose for pictures in front of a giant pumpkin wall.

Boo at the Zoo is included with admission, but admission for children has been reduced to $10.
