PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Phillies will return to action Tuesday night, opening a brief two-game interleague series in Baltimore against the Orioles.

The Phillies are coming off a 5-1 homestand that wrapped up with a 4-2 win over the Mets on Sunday. Gabe Kapler's squad is 23-16 overall, and that is good for second in the National League East. They are just 1 1/2 games behind the first place Atlanta Braves.

The 2018 season has been a struggle so far for the Orioles, who bring a 13-28 record into this series. They sit last in the American League East, 15 1/2 games out of first.

Nick Pivetta will get the start on the mound for the Phillies. He is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA. In his last start, he beat the Giants with five shutout innings of work.

Andrew Cashner will throw for Baltimore. The veteran right-hander is 1-4 with a 4.85 ERA.

KYW Newsradio's Matt Leon spoke with Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer to talk about the Phils and their recent strong play.
