Police identify biker struck, killed while delivering food in Spring Garden

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Police have identified a biker that was stuck and killed in the Spring Garden section of the city Saturday night. 

The incident took place just after 7:30 p.m. along Spring Garden Street, near North 10th Street. 

Authorities say the vicitim, 34-year-old Pablo Avendano, from South Philadelphia, was riding his bike when a woman driving an SUV struck and killed him.

Police say the driver remained at the scene following the incident.  

Avendano was delivering food for Cavair.com at the time of the accident, according to police.

On Sunday night a spokesperson with Cavier released a statement to KYW Newsradio about the incident.

"All of us at Caviar are deeply saddened by this news. This is a horrible tragedy and our thoughts are with Pablo's family. We will work closely with authorities and assist in any way we can."

No charages have been filed against the driver at this time.
