PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Every election brings first time voters. KYW Newsradio went to Temple University election night to talk to some students about what it was like to finally participate in the Democratic process.

For Kelly, a freshman at Temple, it was all about conquering her nerves.

"When I first walked in I was kind of freaked out," she said.

The first-time voter says after a moment, she was able to conquer her fears and cast her vote.

Theo thanks the volunteers at the polls for making his first time a simple one.

"They were really helpful. The whole process was pretty easy everything was pretty well explained and laid out," he said.

Samya changed her address when she started at Temple so she could vote, but that did not keep her having some issues when she went.

"She said she couldn't find my name in there, so I don't think it went through or something. I guess something happened," she said.

She says she was eventually able to fill out a provisional ballot.
