December 11, 2018 - 12:08 pm

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More history is being added to Independence Mall, and it will be open 24/7.

Wawa announced in April it is building a new store at Sixth and Market streets — its largest location ever.

The 11,500-square-foot site in the Public Ledger building will have a unique look, including seating, "Philly First" murals and exclusive themed coffee cups to match, and a stop for the Once Upon a Nation storytelling bench.

The Wawa — 150 S. Independence Mall West — opens Friday at 8 a.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and parade at 9 a.m.

The first 200 customers through the door at 8 a.m. will receive special giveaways. A Hoagies for Heroes hoagie building competition will follow the grand opening.
